The new ThemeScene HD86 offers Full HD 1080p and a range of installation options.
Optoma says the projector boasts full lens shift, a choice of lenses and the latest DLP technology from Texas Instruments, making the HD86 the most powerful beamer in the ThemeScene family. Optoma says its second generation of frame interpolation technology, Puremotion2, provides fluid and natural moving images by eliminating judder and motion-blurring.
Optoma ThemeScene HD86 The ThemeScene HD86 includes display modes for reference and ambient lighting conditions.
The Dynamic Black feature controls contrast and a fully adjustable nine-step iris and choice of preset colour gamut’s add to the level of versatility. The HD86 Colour Management System can act independently or is customisable. Each colour coordinate can be fine tuned or a choice of five preset colour gamuts are available, there is also 3 x HDMI v1.3 to allow 10 bit colour output.
The HD86 is designed for ease of installation with the choice of three optional lenses: standard lens (1.54-1.93), short throw lens (0.77:1) and long throw lens (1.93-2.9:1). An anamorphic lens option is also available. Optoma is also keen to point to the machine’s 700:1 ANSI contrast rating. The company points out ANSI Contrast is measured when the projector is simultaneously displaying both black and white, as opposed to taking a ‘full-on full-off’ reading that measures the projector performance when displaying a pure black screen and then a pure white screen. The company argues is a more realistic ‘real world’ performance measurement.
