German high-end speaker manufacturer Teufel recently introduced an iPod dock, and now it has launched its first computer-friendly amp and speaker system.
The Concept B 200 system includes a pair of speakers plus a separate amplifier box with USB inputs and its own integrated sound card.
The three digital USB inputs allow you to connect to your computer as well as hooking up other devices and Teufel claims that the Concept B 200 retains the company’s hi-fi credentials by bypassing your PC’s sound card in favour of its own digital-to-analogue conversion.
The built-in amplifier has four 30-watt power amps powering each of the two-way speakers (each has a pair of bass/mid drivers and a tweeter). Broadening the connection options are analogue stereo inputs and a 3.5mm jack. Teufel says the Concept B 200, “offers incredible sonic performance over a USB connection without a sky-high price tag”.
The Teufel Concept B 200 is available now from the Teufel website for £189.
