Following on from French manufacturer Waterfall’s well-established glass speakers, Dutch firm Crystal Cable has taken the style into the ultra high end with the Arabesque.
The floorstanding speaker is made from a series of 19mm natural glass strips, facet cut and invisibly glued into an asymmetric box with no parallel sides to discourage standing waves.
It stands on a solid block of aluminium and has three wide-bandwidth bass/mid drivers topped with a ribbon tweeter. The company claims that careful matching of drivers, crossover and cabinet design means that almost no internal damping is required.
Now being distributed in the UK by Absolute Sounds, a pair of Arabesque speakers will set you back a clear £45,000.
