Seagate has revealed the ‘next generation’ of home cinema in the shape of its Free Agent Theater+ media player.
The device connects your digital media library with your home entertainment set-up and includes a specialist docking system that allows any Seagate external hard drive to be plugged in and used with home entertainment systems and TVs.
It also has two USB ports for connecting other portable devices to play media content, an Ethernet connection for network connectivity and a remote control.
It can handle full HD 1080p images as well as DTS 2.0 and Dolby Digital, and has its own user interface for finding your way around your movies, TV, music and photo libraries.
The FreeAgent Theater+ HD is on sale now in the US for $150. A wireless adapter will follow in October for an extra $70.
