Melinda DeNicola, Marketing and Communications Specialist for Silicon Optix, presents their HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) technology and explains the differences between their Reon chip and the Realta chip (capable of doing 1 Trillion operations per second!) while outlining the advantages compared to competitors products. Melinda gives us a brief history of the origin of HQV where Teranex´s video-processing platforms (that sell for as much as $100,000) are used by the leading broadcasters around the world, including CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, Disney . Silicon Optix, which has now purchased Teranex, decided in 2002 to develop an affordable chip using this high-end technology.
