BALTIMORE, MD (August 18, 2006)—Today Polk Audio announced a new series of flush mount speakers designed specifically for Multi Room Audio Video (MRAV) installing dealers. The new products were designed with input from custom integrators across the country to meet their unique needs.
The series consists of six models: four round in-ceiling (including a single speaker stereo model) and two rectangular in-wall models. All models use the same rust-proof grilles and hardware found in the higher priced TCi and LCi models, making them ideal for bathroom, sauna and under-eaves outdoor applications. All-new drivers, tweeters and crossovers make SCi the best sounding flush-mount products ever offered by Polk Audio in this price range.

SCi models share the same cut-out dimensions and pre-construction brackets as Polk’s step-up TCi and LCi product lines, allowing dealers maximum sales and inventory flexibility while allowing consumers a convenient upgrade path. All models are packed one to a box and priced as “each” giving installers the ability to design 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 channel systems without needing to break up pairs. Polk Audio will ship SCi models to integrators and AVAD distribution centers in early September 2006.
The introduction of the SCi Series is the latest step by Polk Audio to dramatically increase its market share in the custom installation audio business. Polk now offers over 35 models of custom products to address virtually every application need. Several of Polk’s MRAV oriented products are category-redefining designs.
