Onkyo has announced its first iPod dock with the focus firmly on sound quality.
The sleek-looking ND-S1 comes with a wealth of connections, including optical and coaxial digital outputs, plus composite AV outputs for connecting to high-end home theatre or stereo systems and supports 16-bit audio playback (up to 48kHz).
It will charge your iPod as it plays and there’s also a USB port for syncing with your iTunes on Mac or PC, as well as a remote control. It’s compatible with classic, nano and touch iPods but, strangely, not the iPhone.
The Onkyo ND-S1 should be available later this month for around £175.
