Leema Acoustics Antila II CD player

16 juillet 2009

British hi-fi manufacturer Leema Acoustics has upgraded its first CD Player, the two-year-old Antila, to create the not unsurprisingly named Antila II. The new player has a completely revamped circuit board with improved circuit layout and critically spaced components, which Leema claims delivers finer detail and clarity, as well as a lower noise floor.

In common with the original, the Antila II is fully LIPS (Leema Intelligent Protocol System) compliant, allowing a press of the play button to power up the amplifier from standby and select the CD input. In some cases it can even be used to control the amplifier’s volume. The unique MD2 Active Differential Multi-DAC technology employs 20 24bit/192KHz multi-bit Delta-Sigma converters to improve linearity, reduce noise and minimise jitter. Leema also claims that numeric inversion generates a fully balanced signal entirely within the digital domain to deliver reduced levels of noise and distortion.

The Antila II is available now, and is £300 more expensive than its predecessor at £2,735.
