Soundcast Allows You To Have Wireless Subwoofer!

20 avril 2009

Californian based company Soundcast have come up with a solution to hide the cable that goes to your all important Subwoofer called ‘SubCast’

Distributed by Armour Home in the UK, SubCast allows consumers to make any subwoofer ‘wireless’. SubCast, requires no programming and no assigning of IP addresses.

Retailing at £150 you simply connect the ‘Sub Out’ from a home cinema amplifier into the small SubCast Transmitter and power it up, then plug the SubCast Receiver module into the Subwoofer inputs and power that up. As if by magic, the subwoofer can now be placed anywhere in the room, completely solving the problem of how to hide conventional cables – especially in homes with fashionable wooden flooring.

Soundcast have refined FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) a patented technology which enables all Soundcast products to find an open channel and broadcast clear audio signals in the 2.4Ghz band, regardless of any other devices operating there. This means the signals are completely ‘interference free’ and there is none of the buzzing, distortion or dropouts which have previously plagued wireless solutions. In short Soundcast’s engineering team have enhanced this wireless technology to eliminate barriers to achieving maximum sound quality.

Both the transmitter and receiver are very small and discreet, measuring only 155 × 40 × 25mm each.

The Subcast has a transmission range of up to 45m indoors.

SubCast has a recommended retail price of £150 including vat.
