LG Electronics today unveiled its new portable projector, the HS102, in the UK.
For £550 you get a plug in and play option and measuring just 154mm x 117mm x 50mm and weighing only 780g, the HS102’s compact size and lightweight design enables users to carry any where without taking up unnecessary space. The unit only offers 4:3 aspect ratio but at this size you can’t complain too much.
Traditionally, projectors use an ordinary bulb that, once blown, is very costly to replace. The HS102 has evolved from this and uses an LED bulb which not only lasts the entire lifetime of the projector, but uses less power and is free from mercury, making it more environmentally friendly. Similarly, the overall picture quality is improved by producing a wider colour range and motion blur and colour break up are eliminated.
Although small, this projector doesn’t sacrifice high spec features for its size – embedded DivX technology enables users to play movies, MP3s and read photo files directly from devices connected via USB. It projects up to 60”, providing the ideal screen size for a cinematic experience or presenting that impressive presentation. In addition, it includes in-built speakers and a remote control that enable users to manage the device with ease.
The HS102 is also compatible with standard digital camera tripods, so the projector can be adjusted for use at any height in any location. Optional accessories are available to accompany the projector, such as a carry case, ceiling mount and an external battery, with a lifespan of up to two hours – ideal for use in locations with limited power supply.
“This is the first time we’ve launched a truly mobile projector to the UK market and with the HS102 – our smallest, most lightweight projector to date – we’re certain that it will be popular with business users and consumers,” explains Soyeon Shin, IT marketing manager, LG Electronics. “It is a truly mobile device that doesn’t compromise on technology or design.”
The HS102 is available in stores now.
