Marantz Launch Flagship Blu-ray Player BD8002

29 janvier 2009

Marantz have entered into the Blu-ray arena by launching the BD8002 Blu-ray player.

The £1800 machine has full High Definition, 1080p image and true film-like 24 frames per second output and give you a one hundred percent lossless, High Definition soundtrack thanks to its decoding of Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

Even better, the high quality video and audio processing ensures standard DVDs will look and sound almost as good as HD material.

The remote controlled BD8002 has a multitude of features including an HDMI 1.3a terminal, supporting 24fps, Deep Color and all raw High Definition data; an unrivalled 12-bit/297MHz video chipset; a pair of SHARC DSPs for HD Audio Decoding; and a 10-bit Silicon Optix Realta processor with the HQV system for the ultimate high-definition video resolution.

The Marantz BD8002 offers upconversion and IP scaling to 1080p for DVDs. The pixel-by-pixel and Digital Noise Reduction afforded by this technology allows the player to remove image-degrading artifacts, resulting in absolutely clear, high-resolution images.

A SD card slot allows for easy viewing of high definition videos and photos, and even digitally stored music.

The unit is only profile 1.1 so no Blu-ray Live is available, on this version at least.

The Marantz BD8002 is available now and retails for £1800.
