Blu-ray disc sales have gone up this month mainly due to the new Dark Knight movie and the reduction in price for the discs. In November 2008, Blu-ray sold almost 463,000 discs. This is an increase 66 per cent increase on the previous month.
The Dark Knight sold an impressive 513,000 disc on its first day of release with 21 per cent of those being on Blu-ray.
Figures released this week from Official Charts Company data, show that recent releases such as Iron Man, Wall.E and Hancock have all seen a sizeable proportion of their sales on the Blu-ray format. The figures look healthy with titles such as Planet Earth and Earth up ‘25 per cent of their sales this year sold on the format’.
Now with over 500 titles available and more big release coming soon, added to this some great features that are present on Blu-ray disc such as the new Dark Knight ‘Fan Commentary’. Using only a webcam hooked up to your Blu-Ray player, you can stream video of yourself talking about The Dark Knight, which you can then upload using BD Live!
