Last month Marantz launched a budget CD player and Amplifier, the CD5003 and PM5003. Now they have added two new products to their 8003 range, including a flagship CD/SACD player the SA8003 and matching stereo amplifier the PM8003.
THE SA8003 and PM8003 fit nicely into Marantz mid-market line-up. The £700 SA8003 player incorporates lessons learnt during the development of the company’s £5000 SA-7S1 model. It uses the new Marantz M1 solid metal chassis and M1 front panel design.
Under the hood you will find the SA8003 uses a new ultra rigid Zylon loading mechanism, which eliminates any chance of negative vibration influence. At its heart is a 24-bit/192kHz, CS4398 digital to analogue converter with DSD Support, from respected manufacturer Cirrus Logic.
The PM8003 at £630 is capable of according to Marantz,“delivering over 200 Watts across its two channels and has at its heart an over-sized, bespoke toroidal transformer. This low impedance, wide-bandwidth power supply ensures a massive reserve of energy with instantaneous current delivery capability, to drive even difficult speaker with ease”
Completing the package is a top quality current feedback MM phono stage directly derived from the company’s £2,500 SC-11S1 Premium range pre-amplifier, which underlines the renaissance in vinyl replay
Marantz SA8003 retails at £700 and is available now and the PM8003 which retails for £630 will be available from November 2008
