Cinenow have visited most of this years Expo’s where we were treated to view 3D technology which not only takes a new innovation into the home but it actually works!
We all remember 3D TV in the 1990’s but know new technology has brought it back into the main stream.
Many companies at this years Expo’s showcased their version of 3D Technology
LG have showcased their version which does not require any 3D glasses but you did have to stand at the correct distance for this to work.
DLP made you wear some funky glasses and showed us how it would look on a 6ft screen with the film ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ and we even had 3 minute preview of Star Wars in 3D!
JVC gave us a quick look at a different way of getting 3D with a prototype machine which could convert any image into 3D from any source. So any TV picture from any source such as sports, films and even games consoles can be converted into 3D.
At this years CEATEC show Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and Victor Company of Japan Ltd jointly developed a 72-inch 3D display that can be viewed again without any 3D glasses. The display uses multiple projectors that project images on the screen from the back to enable the 3D representation. Each projector reportedly has a resolution of 1920 × 1080p8 (full HD), providing a pixel count of *100 million or higher in total.
Depending on who you talk to expect 3D technology, now we have higher-resolution and more content to be available to the public some time between 2011 and 2013.
