Italian manufacturer SIM2 have launched as part of their growing Domino range of projectors the D60 DLP. The front projection system delivers stunning 1080p full-HD imaging at the highly competitive $5000 US price point, where with SIM2’s reputation for superb performance and unequalled style it will stand as a unique solution for discerning yet budget-conscious home theater enthusiasts.
The new model’s single-chip DLP projection system is based upon the latest 1080p DarkChip3™ 0.95-inch DMD chipset from innovator Texas Instruments, which incorporates two recent developments that enhance TI’s latest-generation DLP solutions. Brilliant Colour improves optical efficiency and extends the system’s available colour gamut, while Dynamic Black™ contrast-enhancement significantly boosts effective black-level. Thanks in part to these advances, the D60’s extended contrast (>10,000:1), powerful brightness, and superbly accurate color rendition combine to deliver crisp, colourful images without the motion-blur associated with competing technologies.
Keeping up with other more expensive SIM2 projectors the D60 offers Installers a full range of inputs and outputs, which includes dual HDMI inputs, component, and RGB-HD as well as serial control and 12v-trigger, and the versatility of powered vertical lens shift (+60/-40 percent), variable Iris, and 50-200-inch picture size. The D60 is compatible with all video standards including 1080p, and integrates on-board processing for every important aspect ratio, 16:9 anamorphic, letterbox, and pixel-for-pixel. The D60 projector is available in SIM2’s famous Black Shadow matte finish.
