Fatman have added another iPod docking station to their ranged called the Fatman iTube RED-i.
There is more to the Red-i than mere iPod connectivity. Based on the design principles of the first iTube including luscious looks and astounding sounds the Fatman iTube Red-i fuses the original unit’s separate dock and amp design, creating a beautifully integrated 21st Century music system.
In addition to creating a new chassis, Fatman has significantly upped the iTube amp’s power output: the Red-i outputs an impressive 25 watts per channel. The sonic result is even more slam to the Fatman’s characteristically rich, valve-geared sound!
At the rear of the RED-i you will find two pairs of line-level inputs, meaning plenty of space to hook up your external music sources, such as a CD player.
The built-in iPod dock as is always the way with Fatman’s consumer-friendly systems will enable full control of your MP3 portable’s menu via the Red-i’s neat remote control, while the 3.5mm mini-jack input welcomes all brands of digital music players, from MP3 portables to music-equipped mobile phones.
The latest Fatman iTube also works properly with the Apple iPhone and all-but eliminates TDMA noise – the nasty, unwanted noise made by mobile phones when placed in close proximity of an audio device – and, consequently, the Red-i is one of the first products in the world to meet Apple’s stringent ‘Works with iPhone’ programme.
The Fatman iTube Red-i with speakers will be available in the UK and Europe from September 2008 and will have a suggested retail price (inc. VAT) of £399.
