Fatman’s range of tube-based iPod docks has taken on a wireless element with the Wi-tube.

It forms a wireless link with the bundled FatDock and can pump out 28 watts per channel to a connected pair of speakers. Meanwhile, the FatDock will charge an iPod while it plays and has a USB link to a computer for syncing with iTunes.

It includes a 3.5mm mini jack which allows it to be used with virtually any MP3 player, not just Apple types, as well as mobile phones, and there are stereo line inputs too.

James Roth of Fatman said, “Technology speeds on, and so does Fatman. Hence our new arrival embraces advancements such as wireless connectivity. But some old tech is yet to be beaten, which is why we continue to employ, and refine, truly gorgeous sounding valve-based amplification.”

The Fatman Wi-tube will be available in April for £399.
