Panasonic's first LED-backlit LCD TVs

Panasonic’s first foray into LED backlighting were unveiled at the company’s European product launch in Munich this week.

Panny is restricting its 3D offering to its highest-end plasma screens for now, saying that plasma offers the best quality for the new 3D tech. The smaller LCD models are designed to dovetail with its higher end and bigger sized plasma ranges.

The V20, D28 and D25 series will all use LED side lighting so they can retain a slim profile. The V20 (37in and 42in), D28 (19in, 22in, 32in and 37in) and D25 (32in, 37in, 42in) all offer 200 Backlight blinking Intelligent Frame Creation Pro with a dynamic contrast of 2,000,000:1, plus Viera CAST internet TV and Freeview and Freesat tuners (only in the two larger D28s) while the two smaller D28s come with an iPod dock.

Among Panasonic’s mammoth new TV range (69 new plasma models, 92 new LCDs) there will also be the VT20 3D plasma TVs, plus V20 (42in and 50in, Infinite Black Pro, 600Hz processing) and G20 (42in, 46in, 50in, 600Hz, Infinite Black), S20 (600Hz, Native Contrast 100,000:1) and X20 (37in, 42in, 50in, 100Hz Double Scan, Dynamic Contrast 2,000,000:1) plasmas, as well as the V20, G20, X20, D28, D25 and C20 non-LED LCDs.
