Projectiondesign have launched three new models from the Avielo range.They are introduced by the Norwegian projector manufacturer, and use Texas Instruments DLP® technology for the ultimate in image quality and resolution. The projectors in the Avielo series are superbly styled and packaged, continuing projectiondesign’s tradition for top-level industrial design.
The first three models to be released are the Avielo Prisma, Spectra and Optix. All models were first shown at High End in Munich, Germany during April and they are based on the philosophy of providing the best possible image quality and user experience at their respective price levels.
All feature projectiondesign’s exclusive RealColor colour management suite, Texas Instruments DLP technology, full 10-bit video processing, and proprietary designed custom optics. Each projector is hand-built and uniquely characterised and calibrated at the Avielo factory in Fredrikstad, Norway, ensuring they will provide the best possible image quality,
The new, full HD 1080p resolution Avielo Spectra offers a native resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels and is suitable for up to 2.5 meter wide screens in dedicated home cinemas. With its hand selected “Signature” series projection lenses, high end video processing, and technologies that are directly transferred from Projectiondesign’s professional projectors often used in the movie industry.
The entry level Avielo Prisma DLP projector features 720p resolution, and is suitable for screen sizes up to 2.2 meter wide, and is
designed to offer the company’s legendary image quality and ruggedness of construction in a package that is more affordable than ever before.
Joe Manning, formerly the international sales representative for the Runco and Vidikron brands, has joined projectiondesign as International Market Manager, Home Theater to run and oversee the sales of the Avielo series in the high-end home cinema market.

Two further models are to be unveiled during the second half of 2008. The upcoming radiance model is based on the same chassis as the spectra, but features a higher-power output, making it suitable for screen sizes up to about 3.5 meters wide in home cinemas and media rooms
