Tannoy iPod Dock, PSP speaker system, Wii station (CES 2008)

9 janvier 2008

In the suites of the Hilton Hotel at the CES 2008, Tannoy, known for high-end audio systems, presented their first step into the broad consumer market with three products in their multimedia line-up, including the highly acclaimed i30 iPod Dock.

p=. Tannoy i30 iPod Dock

The i30 features two 100mm (4 inch) iCT (Inductive Coupling) technology drive units, BASH amplifier technology (which gives efficiency of Class D and sound quality of analog Class AB), a USB socket (to sync directly with iTunes via computers) and video output, so the iPod can be used linked to an external video display. Superb sound for only 399$ in the US (with the dollar the way it is these days and without counting local taxes…) while the SMRP is 249£ in the UK, but still a very reasonable price for the quality, as you will certainly agree if you you have “experienced” the system in demonstration like we have.

p=. Tannoy PSP™ Speaker System

Specifically designed for the PSP™, the Tannoy PSP™ Speaker System offers optimum sound performance thanks to SRS TruSurround®. This patented technology improves dialogue clarity while lowering and reinforcing the bass response with its Tru Bass feature, providing a surround sound experience from a 2 speaker system.

To close out our visit of the Tannoy suite at the CES this year, we have to mention the Tannoy pack for the Nintendo Wii game console. Take a look and you’ll see that Tannoy has gone even further into developing design, as the whole system, remote, speakers and sub are all “made to match” with the Wii in mind.
