Cambridge Audio has won two prestigious CES Innovations Awards. Both the Azur 840E pre-amplifier and 840W Class XD power amplifier have been named as Award Honorees and will be showcased at CES in Las Vegas this January.

“The 840E is an inexpensive, sophisticated and flexible high-end pre amplifier. Software driven nameable display, triggers, RS232 and multi-room capability allow many uses, but its outstanding sound sets it apart.”

“The 840W is a novel high-end power amplifier with engineering passion at its heart. Despite being surprisingly inexpensive, it is sophisticated, upgradeable and enormously powerful yet still musical and light of touch.”

2007 has been a truly stunning year for Cambridge Audio starting with both the Azur 840A Class XD amplifier and 840C upsampling CD player basking in their CES Innovation Awards glory at CES in Las Vegas.

No sooner had the original 840A recovered from its moment in the spotlight than the latest version received the company’s first ever EISA award. Each year the European Imaging & Sound Association assembles a panel of expert judges from some of the continent’s leading hi-fi press to investigate the world’s finest technology. After rigorous evaluation they return to vote on one product in each category that they believe offers not only exceptional levels of performance but also provides incredible value. To this end the 840A won Best Product in the 2-channel amplifier category.

These awards underline how far Cambridge Audio has come in the last few years – from a company able to produce high-quality entry-level products to a major global force in hi-fi providing a taste of high-end audio for all. They are a tribute to the importance Cambridge Audio puts on audio design and engineering.
