Pioneer had initially announced the manufacture of its $300 Blu-ray drive for China only. We gladly welcomed the news of its upcoming availibilty in the US next month.
The main advantage of the Pioneer BDC-2202 was to be its price, 299$, a lot cheaper than most players now available on the market. Well now we know that the American public will benefit from the same mouthwatering price as in China. Wahey!
The player can read Blu-ray at 5x, Blu-ray dual layer at 2x and reads and writes to DVDs and CDs as well.
