Revel Concerta M12 : sounding big

5 mars 2007

Fortunately, a lot of companies today are integrating technology developed for their more high-end products to more affordable product lines.

Revel follows the trend by introducing the Concerta M12. The technology involved in this pair of bookshelf speakers is found in the upmarket Ultima range. That implies the filter using low tolerance components, the good thickness of the MDF box (16mm) and the particular care involved in the making.

The M12 is a two-way monitor featuring a 6.5-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter — both with Organic Ceramic Composite diaphragms. Also employing a proprietary tweeter waveguide for seamless woofer to tweeter blending, the M12 produces an expansive sound, low distortion and unsurpassed accuracy for a compact loudspeaker. The M12 delivers accurate sound with a frequency bandwidth of 48 Hz to 45 kHz (-6 dB), has a heavy cast aluminum woofer frame to eliminate resonances, and is also magnetically shielded for use where CRT video monitors are in close proximity.

The Concerta Series Loudspeakers can be employed in stereo, as an LCR array or in a multi-channel setup for a high-performance 5.1- or 7.1-channel surround sound solution.

The Revel Concerta M12 are available at about 950€.
