These two new models, TX-SR604E and TX-SR674E, from Onkyo offer superb features and lots of power for a tight budget. Below you’ll find some more details and prices to complement our recent News on the TX-SR674E.
Priced at about 600 Euros, the TX-SR604E boasts 7×140 watts into 6 ohms, offering two input HDMI ports and one output HDMI connection.
When you’re talking small budget then a installation with calibration by your local professional may not fit in it either (although we still believe its the best way to go, if you can…), so for easy set-up Onkyo includes an automatic calibration microphone “Audyssey”. In addition, the universal remote control is packed full of easy-to-use functions.
For “only” about 150 € more, the TX-SR674E gives you an additional 10 watts per channel (7 × 150 W) but what’s more is you get a stylish brushed aluminium finish on the front panel. Analog signals can be “upconverted” to HDMI. In addition, you will be able to can connect your iPod via the Onkyo DS-A2 station, on option, for another 100 €.
From preliminary specifications, it looks as though the HDMI will be v1.1, limiting the image to 720p or 1080i max, and not 1080p.
The two models will be available in both black and silver and should reach the stores in the second half of September.
