Winner of a 2006 CES Innovation Award, the Cineos HTS9800W is one of the first 6.1-channel packages offering Dolby Digital EX decoding. There are three 125-watt front speakers, three surround (two 85-watt and one 105-watt), and a 150-watt subwoofer. The rear speakers are wireless and were developed using interference-free technology to provide the purity of surround sound without unsightly wire connections (the perfect WAF solution !). The ultra-slim flat-panel speakers offer natural and crystal-clear sound quality with Omni-directional Neodymium Ribbon Tweeters. Dipoles that radiate high frequency sounds in a full 360-degree pattern results in a very “open” wide sound spectrum that delivers crisp clarity and high-pitched detail in the higher tones.
The system offers a HDMI (High-Definition Multi-media Interface) port as well as Video Upscaling up to 1080i to increase the resolution of SD (Standard Definition) video signals that DVDs use to HD (High Definition) to give more details thanks to a sharper, more true-to-life picture. HDMI is fully backward-compatible with DVI.
