For the CES 2006, JVC took the option to be outside the central Convention Center with its showcase headquartered at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Their products literally flooded the hotel from the conference rooms to the suites to show off their entire 2006 catalogue. As you will see in the clip, there were what seemed to be miles of products on display, what would take a normal human being literally weeks to really see everything. Although it will never replace having a live demonstration by a qualified professional, guess maybe we should be happy there is Internet, to not only to re-visit what we missed but also to be able to take a close-up look at the full details and technical specifications of all we are interested in at our leisure… You can click HERE to visit their official WebSite.
You ask what was the highlight this year for us, well if we had to vote for just one of the numerous innovations presented it would be for HD-ILA technology with 2 million pixels per chip, and having a close-up look (again!) at the new 1080p video projector, DLA-HD10K. We say again as we already had this privilege and you can see our scoop with what was THE very first public demonstration in North America including an exclusive interview presentation clip by JVC leaders with Paul Kasparian, Gary Klasmeier and Dr. William Bleha during the recent Home Theater Cruise. Just click HERE to learn the background history of ILA and what makes it work, directly from the source.
But there was just so much on show from JVC ; HD Plasmas and LCDs literally everywhere, Blu-ray prototypes, a D-VHS Digital HDTV recorder with HDMI connection via I LINK, and then the whole line-up of EVERIO G series Hard disk Camcorders (you can see a demonstration in our JVC clip at the What Hi-Fi Stuff Show HERE), and more…
In our JVC CES 2006 clip you will even see a display that will let you learn a new word : eAVINU. Its not just a typo for avenue or even a virtual Main Street. Take a close look as that stands for Easy Audio Video Integrated Navigation Unit and we hope to be bringing you more about the KV-PX9 HDD Navigation/Musicfile Player with maybe even a clip.
