An excellent opportunity to see new products in a superb atmosphere !
The 2005 What Hi*Fi? Sound & Vision Show in association with The Best of STUFF took place in Hammersmith's Novotel London West during the last week end. Perfect timing to discover the latest "hot" products on the UK market for the upcoming holiday season.
With initial estimates well over 10,000 visitors this year, compared with 8000 last year, this exhibition demonstrated an increasing interest for Home Video and Hi-Fi systems from the public.
Below we will give you a few highlights of the show, but for more details we will be bring you in the coming days over 20 streaming video clip presentations of the products, technologies, corporate strategies and interviews.
The focal point was the launch of High-Definition TV with a super live demo. Don't miss all the details in the Ultimate Guide to HDTV published by the organizers. Although the other global trends are similar to those we have seen everywhere, the UK Audio Video market confirms a tendancy for early adoption of HD systems. We saw fantastic SXRD and Tri LCD demos.
The "scoop" was Sony's Qualia 004 little sister, that is known as "RUBY", but is officially the VPL-VW100. It is also equipped with an SXRD matrix and will be coming to the market in the coming weeks with a "very reasonable" pricetag, well, compared to the 004 and given the superb image quality...
Tri DLP was on show too and we were particularly impressed by the SIM2 demo with the C3X coupled with a special 2.35 anamorphic lens.
What Hi*Fi? Sound & Vision Show isn't only an audio show, but a true high-tech exhibition in collaboration with STUFF magazine, where we could admire not only a wide range of product demos, from loudspeakers to top notch Audio/Video electronics, but also AV servers, mobile phones, gadgets, gear, technology and much more...
