Other major contributors signed on to back the new optical disc format which can hold 25GB of data on a single layer include Apple, HP, Panasonic, Samsung, Twentieth Century Fox and Walt Disney Pictures and Television.
These news will probably have an impact on the future of both standards, with the hope that they may - at LONG last! - reach an agreement to... merge.
Recall that every possible customer survey has indicated that NO-ONE, worldwide, is ready to agree on another battle like those we've seen in the past between Betamax, VHS and others...
