To close out our summary of the CEDIA 2005 here is a selection of the other hot products we saw, including brands like : AMX, Schroers & Schroers, Arcam, AudioQuest, Crestron, Kaleidescape, Logitech, Meridian , Philips, Opus, Sonus and Velodyne.
Below for each of these brands only one of a full series of the photos we have taken is shown, some have over 30 (!) pictures in our global Special Report.
AMX continues its up-market penetration in the sector of touch screens with a full range of products offering dimensions and functions for every purpose. They are so beautiful that the picture frame is really appropriate!
Schroers & Schroers, legendary for their up-market furniture (and prices to match...) were at the CEDIA UK this year showing off their magnificent designs. Here is their new floating, rotating support table for LCD and Plamas screens. A picture is worth a thousand words! and in our CEDIA UK Special Report you see a lot more you'll not want to miss!
Another new high-end product from Arcam was enveiled this year, the FMJ, a numerical audio server offering a very significant storage capacity for your favorite music, with the option to compress or not, and 4 zones for your listening pleasure. The price is expected be slightly over 3000 Euros.
AudioQuest presented its product range including its new universal cable connectors. Just buy the cable you want and the lengh you need for every use and total flexability!
Crestron presented a whole new series of touch screens to broaded its already extensive catalogue. It’s tempting to put them everwhere!Logitech, who has bought Harmony, distributes universal remote controls such as the 885 which can be set-up automatically from A to Z via your computer. We tried it (just for you) and were really very, very impressed by how easy it was to use.
Philips counterattacks Logitech with a new big screen wireless remote control.OPUS is multiroom management "à la Marantz" including the above ultra compact system. We were overwhelmed by its performance capacities!
Sonos has developed a wireless music management system with this beautiful remote control. If you have the budget, You'll just fall in love with this top model, particularly as her tech specs make her tough to match.
In addition to the their exceptional selection of Hi-Fi and Home Theater equipment at the CEDIA UK, there was more that was hot from this leading American manufaturer as Meridian had for demonstration a new system to simplify the management of HDMI with the above switch, using 4 input and 1 output connections, piloted by Meridian electronics (or even others if you prefer…) And that is not all, with an additional little “black box” you can use up to 125 feet with a simple HDMI cable!
To complement the Velodyne bass speaker that we showed in Part 1 of our coverage of the CEDIA UK 2005, here is the same technology equipment that you can buy separately if you already own a subwoofer to perfectly set-up your system. The graphic interface module and the microphone are available separately, the only little catch is the price tag, which is apparently near 750 Euros.
Kaleidescape was at its top showing its numerical video server that can eat up all your DVD’s. We’re in love with it !
