“It represents a new performance range not achievable in a consumer subwoofer anywhere else in the marketplace or at any price," said Ian Colquhoun, Axiom founder and chief designer.
Technically, the Epicenter EP600 is a digitally controlled subwoofer. It is capable of “reproducing high-volume deep-bass musical frequencies to 16 Hz in an anechoic environment, one of the lowest musical tones audible to the human ear.”
To achieve this the device controls every frequency between 17 Hz and 100 Hz, at maximum intervals of 1.5 dB, thanks to a DSP chip and digital algorithm that operate through the entire range. It is equipped with a 12-inch driver with a 3-inch diameter (dual voice-coil). Its in-house created amplifier can deliver up to 600 watts. It can generate up to 111 dB SPL anechoic, while in actual rooms it will produce 11 dB greater output.
The EP600 subwoofer comes in both vertical floor-standing and horizontal options.
Size: 45.5” x 15” x 17”.
