The new Xbox 360 has been launched on an MTV show on Friday 13 May. Microsoft claims that its new game "opens the door to incredible new high-definition entertainment". It contains a three-core 3.2GHz IBM PowerPC processors that can handlesix threads simultaneously. ATI handles the graphics side with a 500MHz, 10MB memory chip. In addition, 512MB of GDDR 3 SDRAM are available and shared between the processors and the GPU. Interestingly, a water cooling system has been placed in order to prevent any meltdown! There were actually many rumours circulating about this HDTV capability, notably full 720 p, and we'll know more very soon.
The Xbox 360 will start its life in the US shops during the holiday season, soon followed by Europe and finally Japan in December.
