Sennheiser new RS130 and RS140 Wireless Headphones

17 mai 2005

Sennheiser has released its new RS 130 and RS 140 wireless headphones that use FM wireless transmission (with a 150 metres range ) and offer a very good signal-to-noise performance. They are closed and open-backed systems. They come with the company's "Intelligent Auto Tuning" that automatically chooses the best among the 3 base-to-headset channels, hence get lower distortion and noise-free listening. They include local charging for their "integral", 22 hours capable NiMH batteries.

The RS 130 is an open-backed device that features Sennheiser's “OpenAire” latest evolution. It is targeting the broadest segment: Music, TV and fims.

The RS 140 is a closed-back system that the company claims is more suitable for listening to music at high volumes, since its closed back architecture allows for keeping the music inside the box. It has a switchable dynamic compression system for excellent speech intelligibility and a balance control for optimum right/left volume adjustment. If necessary, a high output level can be adjusted to compensate for moderate hearing loss. It delivers an impressive maximum sound pressure of 110dB and and an over 68 db signal-to-noise. It is a machine that can be of interest for semi-pro wireless performance, and/or DJ listening.

The Sennheiser RS 130 priced at GBP100, and the RS 140 at GBP150.
