Mitsubishi new Plasma available in the US

3 mai 2005

The US division of Mitsubishi Electric has announced two new plasma monitors that are equipped with the Plush imaging technology. Such technology, the company claims, is capable of delivering unmatched vision quality.

The new 42-in and 50-in monitors are dubbed PD-4265 and PD-5065. They provide an "industry-leading" 12-bit color processing that delivers more than eight times the number of colours when compared with "traditional" plasma devices. This process can deliver more than 68 billion colours.

Mitsubishi's new plasmas also bring their BrightCell plasma and MicroFilter technology; the former consists in thinner, darker cell wall construction for more phosphor area per pixel, resulting in sharper, more detailed pictures with very smooth images and bright, vivid colours, while the latter equips every plasma cell with a microfilter that optimizes red, green and blue phosphors.

A six-way color control is included in every device, to allow for independent adjustment for six colours. The 42-inch model is 1024x768 in capable, while the 50-inch boasts 1365x768 in.

Both feature HDMI input, removable, bottom-mounted speakers and a height-adjustable stand.

In separate announcements, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America introduced its new lines of LCD flat panel televisions, and Digital Cable Ready LCD and 1080p DLP(TM) microdisplay HDTVs.
