Audio consultant Joseph d’Apollito has been employed by Usher Audio for the design of their latest loudspeaker series… and it sounds… Usher started in Taiwan in 1972 as a repair service for damaged imported high end displays. It has eversince developed its own brand, distribution and has been present at every CES since 2001. HIAudio -who also distributes Aeon Acoustics, Hadcock, The Cartridge Man, and Graham Slee Project- will take care of this high-end audio brand in the UK.
The range goes from the little ₤300 S52011 to the 3-way and floorstanding CP6381 at ₤2150. There are also pre-amp (P-307 ₤1200) and amplifier (P1.5 ₤1350) systems.
The monster (almost 59 Kg!) 6 series CP6381 claims a 29Hz- 28KHz response with a tweeter mounted at the top, a solution which, although it isn’t necessarily the most beautiful option, presents a more realistic sound space image. The bass is an 8in, mid-bass 7in.
