JVC AV receivers with USB & HDMI connectors

17 janvier 2005

LAS VEGAS , January 6, 2005 – JVC today announced a new generation of home audio/video receivers with a new sleek profile designed to complement the designs of today's home theater systems. The 2005 JVC AV receiver line takes advantage of JVC's digital amplifier technology to abandon the traditional big black box look in favor of a streamlined design, while also offering advanced digital audio and video features and performance.

Every new JVC AV receiver features the company's Hybrid Feedback digital amplifier that is compact, highly efficient and able to generate high power output with low distortion levels. Other features in selected models include HDMI input and output, a USB-PC link – wired and wireless, and all models feature JVC's new Center Channel Alignment for optimum center channel performance.

“JVC's new receiver line combines performance and style – exactly what today's home theater customer demands, as we learned from a series of focus groups we used to help design the line,” said Steve Howcott, General Manager, Consumer Audio, JVC Company of America . “Our new receivers are also easy to operate thanks to a combination of convenience features and logical control layout.”

A new feature in the JVC receiver line is a USB-PC link that sends music from a PC to the receiver for playback, providing far superior sound quality when listening to music files compared to the performance of typical PC speakers . Some receivers offer a wired version, while others feature wireless playback using a transmitter that plugs into the PC's USB port and sends a 2.4GHz signal to a receiver in the same room for file playback.

Another new JVC feature is Center Channel Alignment – DSP (digital signal processing) technology that compensates for placement of the center channel speaker either above or below the display, shifting the apparent source of the dialog to the screen.

JVC's new entry-level receiver is the RX-D201S/202B (S: silver; B: black), which combines an extensive feature set with advanced sonics in an affordable and stylish package. At 100 watts x 7, it features nearly all available audio codecs, including Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DTS, DTS-ES, DTS NEO:6, DTS 96/24, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx, plus a USB input for receiving audio signals from PCs. As with all of JVC's new receivers, it uses the company's Hybrid Feedback digital amplifier, which uses a digital feedback loop to generate a precise signal and an analog feedback loop to ensure that the final signal is identical to the original.

Listeners who want to enjoy a 6.1-channel source, but who may not have the space for a full 6.1 speaker set-up can take advantage of JVC's Virtual Surround Back. Additionally, JVC's digital audio processor can create a full range of soundfields from both multichannel and two-channel sources. The receiver also features JVC's Quick Speaker Setup, a fast, easy way to set the receiver for the user's specific speaker set-up.

For analog audio, there are four inputs and two outputs, while audio digital inputs include one optical and an assignable coaxial input. The video side features S-Video (three inputs, three outputs), composite (three inputs, three outputs), and component (two inputs, one output). Additional benefits of the RX-D202B/201S include AV CompuLink for connecting to other JVC components, 3D headphone and a multi-brand A/V-DBS-CATV remote. The RX-D201S/202B will be available in March at a nationally advertised value of $219.95.

The RX-D301S/302B offers features and technology comparable to that of the RX-D201S/202B , but adds JVC's new wireless USB-PC link so users of the iTunes® Music Store and other online music stores can play their files back through their component audio system using the RX-D301S/302B. I t also offers a power output of 110W x 7 and a dual-mode CC converter.

For analog audio, there are four inputs and two outputs, while audio digital inputs include two optical inputs, one optical output and an assignable coaxial input. The video side features S-Video (three inputs, three outputs), composite (three inputs, three outputs), and component (two inputs, one output). The RX-301S/302B will be available in April at a nationally advertised value of $439.95.

The RX-D401S (110W x 7) offers a similar feature set as the RX-D301S/302B, but adds an HDMI interface – two inputs and one output. HDMI, increasingly available on source components and displays, converts all incoming signals to digital and allows the use of a single cable from the receiver to the display. It also offers a wired version of JVC's USB-PC link for music file playback. In addition to HDMI, connections include four audio analog inputs and two outputs, one optical audio input and an assignable coaxial input. The video side features S-Video (three inputs, three outputs), composite (three inputs, three outputs), and component (two inputs, one output). The RX-D401S/402B will be available in August at a nationally advertised value of $549.95.

The top-end RX-D701B, with a power output of 150W x 7, features an aluminum front panel and offers HDMI, wireless USB-PC link, a dedicated input for satellite radio and an on-screen display to make receiver adjustments as convenient as possible. Another highlight is Auto Speaker Set-up, which uses an included microphone placed in the listening position to automatically set speaker levels for optimum surround sound playback. Other features include a dual-mode CC Converter and a multi-brand glow remote control.

Multiple inputs and outputs allow the RX-D702B to accommodate a wide range of sources. For analog audio, there are five inputs and two outputs, while audio digital inputs include three optical inputs, one optical output and an assignable coaxial input. The video side features S-Video (four inputs, three outputs), composite (four inputs, three outputs), and component (two inputs, one output). The RX-D702B will be available in July at a nationally advertised value of $879.95.
