The BS 602 X-JET offers the perfect audiophile speaker for smaller rooms, home theater applications, studio monitors or any application where smaller stand mounted or bookshelf speakers are prefered. Utilizing the same technology as the other 600 series products including the new X-JET coaxial midrange / tweeter drive unit for precise dispersion control, perfect phase alignment and extended dynamic range. The 602 X-JET speaker is also suitable for smaller spaces which desire a very high degree of detail, imaging and clarity. X-JET Coaxial Technology. The 602 X-JET features the all new coaxial X-JET midrange / tweeter using a unique combination of a flat aluminium honeycomb midrange diaphragm and a concentrically arranged JET ribbon tweeter.
The ultra lightweight aluminium honeycomb midrange diaphragm is bonded to a 78mm edge-wound, coppered aluminium voice coil on a ventilated Capton bobbin and surrounded by a powerful neodymium magnet structure. The combination provides a reduced stray magnetic field with higher efficiency, improved dynamics and smooth, even frequency dispersion. The concentrically located JET III ribbon tweeter uses a unique folded ribbon technology providing a wide, smooth dispersion and a flat frequency response exceeding 50kHz. The JET tweeter has been highly regarded for years due to its superior impulse control, smooth sound character and incredible detail. The amplitude and phase of the sound waves of the two drive units run linear and frequency-independent over the front solid angle of 180 degrees creating a true “point source” system, eliminating phase rotation and frequency anomalies. The result is exceptional imaging and detail, significantly improved impulse and power control providing much improved dynamic range and an even frequency response and dispersion throughout the listening space. 180mm ELAC aluminium sandwich diaphragm woofer with double rubber surround in asymmetrical design and 37mm Capton bobbin for high efficiency. This results in accurate, high level bass reproduction down to frequencies below 32 Hz.
Cabinet in cross-frame hybrid technology.
This special cabinet is a combination of extruded aluminium, aluminium casting and MDF with horizontal and vertical internal tension rods. This new design concept offers optimized sound and avoids unwanted resonances.
Crossover network
The crossover network is provided with high quality components, Van den Hul internal wiring and gold-plated WBT connectors and includes accommodations for Bi-wire connection.
