Multimedia Fridge
$8000 … that’s the tidy sum that you’ll have to fork out if you want to get your little mits on the world’s first multi-media fridge, just out in the States.
You’ll be able to watch the Wheel of Fortune on a 15" touch screen, listen to your MP3 tracks via a system of integrated speakers, surf on internet or check your e-mail… or find new recipes! In a few words, that’s the kind of thing you’ll be able to get out of this home automation system, which will no doubt be the pride and joy of many a (well off) buyer…
The multi-media part of the deal doesn’t stop there, either! The LRSPC2661T includes a digital camera (a bit heavy). In addition, an intelligent module allows the user to manage the contents of the fridge in real time, and also detects any break-downs in the fridge itself (Hey… If I forked out this much dosh for one of these babies, I’d expect it not to break down!!!)
While being out of the price range of many, this new and unusual product will no doubt find its place in our habitats, given the forecast increase in home automation that all the analysts predict. No doubt similar systems will soon be around for a lower price in any case. So, for now, we have to take our hats off to LG for being the forerunners in this field!
