A Cheap Scaler!
After launching into the world of multiplication of lines with the Dreamscaler, Dreamvision are launching, for the early part of this year, a scaler offering, for less than 1524 Euros, a product with very good performance levels.
With its small size, the Optimizer combines two important functions, firstly that of a line multiplier, as well as working as a video switcher with 7 inputs, that accept: one RS232, two S-video, two composites (by BNC) and two components (by BNC) with, for one, the H/V synchro non-separated.
Composed of a digital decoder, the Optimizer integrates, a number of important technologies. Starting with its video raster de-interlacing system, which gives the following output:
- 800 x 600 SVGA
- 1024 x 768 XGA
- 1280 x 960 Quad
- 1365 x 768 Plasma
- 1365 x 1024 D-ila, including the presence of an "active" filter allowing the resolution to be significantly increased as well as the luminosity of the image. It’s also worth noting that the Dreamvision includes this filtering technology in order to minimise video noise without suppressing rainbow effects due to DLP technology.
So, as they say, if you’re looking for an image "just like at the movies", the Optimizer is an absolute must". I think they’re sincere. It has to be said that the l’Optimizer was presented to us during the CES on the hop in the company of CineXone (by the same brand), and the image was really exceptional, having good colorimetry as was as fluidity worthy of much more expensive machines.
This newcomer will be available in February through most outlets worthy of their salt.
Oops. Almost forgot, the optimizer also has an output in 852 x 480... Thanks Rachel!!!
