True to Form!
NEC, a major player in the European video projector market, has just launched their new model - the VT 45. this new LCD-based projector -voir Specs in News of 11th September- and with a light output of 1000 lumens is an excellent "entry range" model, which, while targeting the general public, is just as promising as its bigger brothers.
The VT45 offers native resolution of 800 x 600 pixels (SVGA), accepting resolutions up to SXGA as well as all video & TV standards. Apart from these exceptional characteristics and well adapted price, the VT45 is the only projector of its category equipped with double manual lens adjustments, allowing the user to optimise the image without altering its quality.
In addition, NEC propose manual keystone correction as well as geometric image adjustment. It suffices to move the lens up or down in order to correct any deformation. We also note that depending upon the installation configurations, the image may reach a size from 0.6 to 7.5 m (diagonal).
Not only that, thanks to different running modes, the VT45 adapts itself easily to strong ambient light conditions. The "normal" setting, which is adapted to "luminous" environments, is completed by "economy" mode, which, taking account of different conditions of darkness, reduces the light output by 10% (900 lumens) or 20% (800 lumens), allowing for the lamp life to be prolonged by between 1000 and 1500 hours.
Offering a very complete set of options, especially for a machine of its category, the VT45 is perfectly adapted to Home Cinema configurations. Apart from the three colours RGB, which can be adjusted separately, the user can also adjust the spectrum of complementary colours, saturation, and image temperature. By the same token, it¹s possible to choose from four pre-set adjustments for colour correction by default. The VT45 is configured for sRGB colour mode, which, for the occasion, is joined by excellent black levels.
The VT45 is based on what¹s known as VORTEX technology, which was developed by NEC. This consists of delivering an image of "uncommon quality", assuring a uniformity of colours and luminosity as well as contrast. Video sequences gain in depth, finesse and purity. To summarise, it should be noted that NEC hasn¹t left it at that, because in adding AUTOSENSE technology for the optimisation of the transfer of computer and video signals, your eyes certainly get their Euro's worth!
This product is available through all good NEC retailers, at the ultra competitive price of 2,880 Euros.
