MARANTZ REMOTES

10 octobre 2001

Long Live Cloning … Electronic cloning that is!

Visitors to IFA Berlin had the privilege of discovering, on the stand of the American constructor Marantz two new remote controls… the RC5200 and the RC9200.

A Prontopro V2.0

Marantz official partner of Philips persists and signs, because as had been the case for their RC5000, the company will be returning, for their new RC9200 to the same working principle developed by the Papa of the Compact Disc for their Prontopro.
In addition, we’ve noted this time that the lads from Marantz have slightly changed the design of their progeny, while retaining most of the electronics developed for the version sold by Philips. To recap the technical characteristics that you can also find in the news of June 15th 2001, this RC9200 will of course dispose of the 256 colour touch screen of it’s sister machine, an 8 Mb memory, and of the much awaited RF option.

A RC5000 V3.0

With regard to the "lil’ sis", the RC5200
Marantz simply made a "carbon copy" of the hardware and software of the RC5000i. Marantz thus have only modified the external aspect of the casing and the remote control which is nevertheless the same as the RC9200. The rest remains identical to the well known Pronto and RC5000i, because the RC5200 only suffers from a difference in ergonomics.

These two accessories will be available, according to the manufacturer, from 2002, and presented at the next Cedia and CES 2002.
