Speakers… but also DVD...

A rising star in Home Cinema for the general public, Dantax have, over the past couple of years, affirmed their position in what is an ultra competitive market. After launching into the manufacture and marketing of speakers, the Danish brand is now attacking the quality DVD market, launching a new player onto the market – the DVD-9001.

Built around a base developed by Panasonic, the DVD-9001 which, until now has only been seen by the public at the CNIT during the Home Cinema weekend (see news 4th May) and will shortly be exhibited at the IFA in Berlin, is a DVD player possesing all the functions that a player of its generation should sport.
It’s Dolby Digital, DTS and MPEG audio compatible. It houses 24 bit / 96 kHz audio converters, two digital outputs (one optical and one coaxial). On the video side, the machine is also a performer, including a set of converters running at 10 bits / 27 Mhz. This is accompanied, for the transport of video signals, by a composite output, as well as S-Video, RGB Scart plug and a YUV output.
Nb: At the time of writing, the manufacturer has not informed us of the probability of inclusion of a processor for de-interlacing video raster (progressive scan).

It’s also worth noting that the DVD-9001 disposes of two microphone inputs on its front panel, meaning the user can use the machine for Karaoke. Moreover, we note that the player is also compatible with VCD/MP3/CD-R and CD-RW formats.

Expected to be on the shop shelves from September, the DVD-9001 will sell for less than 4,000 fr, which is not too expensive for a quality player available, off the factory floor, in all zones version.

NB: If you’re at the IFA exhibition in Berlin at the end of August, you’ll be abmle to admire the full Dantax range at stand 21-S in Hall 25.
