It’s worth checking out the scene at NEC at the moment – they’re launching a new LCD video projector mid-July, entitled the GT-2150.

The main characteristics of this incongruous object make it a real winner, because despite it’s rather unusual design, NEC have packed it full of high-class electronics.
Weighing in at some 12.8 kg (419L x 494D x 19H) the GT 2150 pumps out the pictures with the aid of an NSH lamp of 250 watts for a very bright video stream. Moreover, the choice by NEC to include in this new machine what could be termed “ultra powerful” electronics, allows it to reach a contrast ratio of 350:1 and some 2500 lumens ANSI giving it the possibility to attack the “upper end” of the video projection market.

In terms of video processing, NEC doesn’t break from tradition, yet again remaining faithful to LCD technology. The manufacturer, for the occasion, has included a new generation of nTFT matrixes – three to be exact…
This choice allows the user to play with the resolution and to choose among two formats:
-1280 x 1024 Pixels in SXGA
-1600 x 1200 Pixels in UXGA.

No final price has been communicated for the moment. In the meantime, we’ll leave you to admire the interface!
