FUJITSU 52 & 32 Inch Panels

14 mars 2001

Some new stuff... Again!

The Japanese manufacturers Fujitsu continue to expand their range of products, which have, over time, become a veritable concentration of avant-garde technologies.

The year 2001 marks one of the most important steps for these “plasma masters”: effectively, after the launch of their new range of 42 inch panels (including Alis video processing on some), Fujitsu is preparing for the launch of two new screens onto the market – one of 52, and the other of 32 inches (whose definitive dimensions are still not known).

A 52 inch "halogen" ...

This 52 inch monitor was presented, with the rest of the range, for the occasion of CES 2001. This new “deluxe” screen, destined to compete against the PDP 502 MX by Pioneer, will dispose of all the latest video diffusion technologies. Fujitsu have, however, not let any specific information filter through and we cannot, for the moment, tell you any more, except to offer you the photo that we took at the CES!

Down to Earth...

In order to keep everyone happy, or in other words, to democratise the plasma market, the Japanese constructor is now attacking the 32 inch market. If one heeds the rumours that were circulating at the SETI in Paris, Fujitsu are discreetly preparing to launch a screen in this sector. This new monitor (finally!) will be destined to the general public, having a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, will not be more than 9 cm thick and will not weigh more than 20 Kilos, allowing the user to manipulate and move the screen relatively easily (why not on the weekend?).

These new babes should be on the market towards the end of the year… more precisely around the month of December 2001. Let’s hope in any case that the manufacturer will present them at CEBIT in Hanover!

Of course, we’ll be there and will keep you informed as news comes to hand.
