Can you imagine experiencing, in the near future, sensations fitting of a real cinema, playing with your home computer?

In fact, it’s already possible, because Dolby, the unopposed leader in the sound processing field, are proposing their first sound kit destined to game developers.

This module, put in place by the Dolby labs, will allow, in an initial period, for the mixing of a soundtrack in Dolby Surround (this of course has already been in existence for a little while), but above all… and this is the real “novelty” – in 5.1. Can you imagine the excitement? Personally, the idea of playing a racing game, benefiting not from stereo, but from multi-channel reproduction leaves me flabbergasted.
