Both models are closed-back, over-ear designs and are intended as the entry-level models for the company’s flagship Tesla range.

They’re made by hand in Germany and are aimed at distinctively different markets. The T70 features a standard impedance of 250 ohms and is designed for home listeners, while the T70p has an exceptionally low impedance of 32 ohms and is designed for less powerful, portable devices.

The headphones’ headband and earpads are designed for comfort over extended periods and help to exclude outside noise. Beyerdynamic even claims they’ll help to keep the temperature balanced.

The T70 is finished with a three-layer varnish that changes colour ‘from dark violet to mud tones’ under light and comes with a carry bag, set of jack adaptors and 3m headphone cable. The T70p has the same, but a 1.2m cable.

Both the T70 and T70p are expected to be available in July for around £450 each.
