Norwegian hi-fi manufacturer Electrocompaniet plans to launch its new ECT 3 system remote control at the Munich High End Show next week.

The new device looks similar to the company’s Classic line of electronics, and features a metal base and acrylic front.
It will support both IR and RF transmission, and includes a built-in screen which can show information from various components.
The click-wheel control works in the same way as the buttons on Electrocompaniet’s amplifiers and CD players.
The ECT 3 also supports Electrocompaniet’s Prelude Line kit, including the PD 1 DAC. Used with the PD 1, the ECT 3 will be able to control playlists on your computer.
Following its debut at the show, the ECT 3 should go on sale in June for £300.
