Dolby has announced that both Thor and Captain America will be released with a 7.1 surround audio track.
Both 2D and 3D formats of Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger from Paramount films will feature Dolby Surround 7.1.
The system is claimed to improve the spatial dimension of soundtracks and enhance audio definition, resulting in full-featured audio that better matches the visual impact of movies.

Thor is the twenty-first film available in Dolby Surround 7.1 on the film market, which the company claims makes it one of the most rapidly adopted audio formats since the advent of digital sound.
