Denon adds AirPlay to Ceol music system

2 février 2011

Denon has added AirPlay compatibility to its new Ceol music system.

Denon Ceol with AirPlay Denon Ceol

Apple’s streaming software is available as a downloadable upgrade for £39, available from Denon’s website.

The upgrade for the Ceol was delayed awaiting the results of compatibility tests, and AirPlay for Denon had previously only been available on some of the company’s latest AV receivers.

To use AirPlay, you’ll need a Wi-Fi network supporting 802.11g (54Mbps) or 802.11n 150Mbps. The Ceol uses 802.11g and there’s a planned upgrade later this year which will allow the software to be used with 802.11b networks.

The system allows you to control your streaming audio via iTunes on your PC, Mac, or even iPod/iPod Touch via an additional (free) remote app.
