Pure’s latest DAB radio doubles as a ‘dawn simulator’ designed to wake you up in the most natural way possible.
Pure Twilight Pure Twilight
The Pure Twilight claims to be the world’s first combined dawn simulator lamp and digital radio.
Aiming to be ‘the ultimate bedside experience’, the Twilight combines light therapy with mood lighting, DAB/FM radio, built-in natural sounds and lullabies as well as a reading light and four independent alarms.
Pure claims it’s also the most energy efficient product of its kind on the market thanks to its energy-saving LED-based light, which provides the same light output as a 45W incandescent light bulb for just 5.4W when the lamp is on (and it consumes less than 1W in standby).
There’s a choice of four alarm types: digital radio, FM radio, special alarm tones including ‘church bell’ and ‘cockerel’; or natural sounds including ‘wind chimes’, ‘dawn chorus’ and ‘cicadas’.
Each of the alarm sounds can be accompanied by dawn simulation which gradually increases the brightness of the light to mimic the rising sun before the alarm is activated. Pure says that studies have shown that waking up to a dawn simulation is good for health and can combat symptoms associated with SAD (seasonal affective disorder).
At the other end of the day, the Twilight offers lullabies for kids such as ‘twinkle, twinkle, little star’, ‘rock-a-bye baby’ or ‘Brahm’s lullaby’ and a nightlight that can be set to any colour or brightness. There’s also a choice of relaxing natural sounds for grown-ups and a timed mood light that dims gradually.
The glass dome is touch sensitive for on/off switching and there’s a PowerPort for USB accessories such as mobile phone chargers, reading lights and bedside fans to reduce the number of power points needed next to the bed.
The Pure Twilight is available now for £130.
