Posh hi-fi brand B&O will celebrate its 85th birthday next week by releasing the Beosound 8 iPad dock, the only dock designed specifically for Apple’s tablet.

The adjustable bracket on top can be moved to accommodate the iPad or any manner of iPhone or iPod. The new device can be wall mounted, measures 66.1 × 23.9 × 16.4cm and includes a pair of cone-shaped two-way active speakers (four drive units in all). Options for customisable, coloured speakers are available for a premium.
Its hi-fi credentials include a ‘room adaptation switch’ which is designed to help you tune it to the acoustics of your room. Connections include USB and line inputs, as well as a direct digital dock connection, so you can bypass the DAC in Apple’s portable devices.
An iPhone app is coming soon which will allow you to use the BeoSound 8 to access internet radio.
The B&O Beosound 8 iPad dock will be available later this month for £895.
